5-7-20 THOUGHTS

Ex 24:16-17    The glory of the LORD rested on Mount Sinai, and the cloud covered it for six days; and on the seventh day He called to Moses from the midst of the cloud.  17  And to the eyes of the sons of Israel the appearance of the glory of the LORD was like a consuming fire on the mountain top.
You and I have no way to relate to this except by words and thoughts.  I expect the majesty of a thunderstorm in Texas is about as close as I’ve been.   The power of the visual along with the awesome shaking sounds is still present, at least in my memory.  
   What GLORY...it is so powerfully awesome. When I see it, it is over-powering.  
I see my place as I read what follows.  The humble fearful, reverent respect is powerful.
Deut 5:26-29    ‘For who is there of all flesh who has heard the voice of the living God speaking from the midst of the fire, as we have, and lived? 27 [You Moses] ‘Go near and hear all that the LORD our God says; then speak to us all that the LORD our God speaks to you, and we will hear and do it.’    28  "The LORD heard the voice of your words when you spoke to me, and the LORD said to me, ‘I have heard the voice of the words of this people which they have spoken to you. They have done well in all that they have spoken. 29  ‘Oh that they had such a heart in them, that they would fear Me and keep all My commandments always, that it may be well with them and with their sons forever!
Do some research on the word “Ichabod.”  Interesting history. We could spend the day on this thinking.
Matt 18:3     and said, "Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.    

Consider carefully the word “CONVERTED”!

And so our thought this morning is most simply...  MY PLACE...  HIS PLACE!
I believe with all my heart, if I can GET THIS RIGHT...  The rest will follow beautifully.
Luke 9:23   And he said to [them] all, If any [man] will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.
Gal 2:20   "I have been crucified with Christ; and it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the [life] which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself up for me.
Matt 20:16     "So the last shall be first, and the first last."
1Pet 5:6   Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time:
2Cor 3:16-18     but whenever a person turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. 17  Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. 18  But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as from the Lord, the Spirit.
                           A song we sing...   I Stand In Awe...    is going through my mind.
My Prayer:
Oh God of all glory, help us each day to see your awesome nature.   Give us greater capacity to see your glory!  And seeing it, help us to die to self continually that we may live to YOU.  Oh GOD, bless our day with your presence.   In Jesus name                Amen
